Experiment 4 of 4

Verbal description

In the original study, two participants sat back to back: one described a pattern in words, the other tried to place it correctly just from that description. Here it works the same way, but asynchronously — you describe a pattern now, and someone else (now or later) will try to identify it. Then you'll try to identify a pattern from a description someone else already wrote.

  1. 1 You'll see one pattern. Describe it in words — however you'd explain it to someone who can't see it.
  2. 2 Then you'll read a description someone else wrote, and try to pick out the pattern they meant from 8 candidates.
